CHEMICO has developed polypropylene (PP) foam, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) foam, and compostable polylactic acid (PLA) foam, which can replace conventional Styrofoam. These eco-friendly materials are semi-crystalline, therefore the processing window for foaming is very narrow. Many companies in the world have been trying to develop foam technology of these green materials, but only a few companies succeeded, and most of them failed to commercialize. CHMICO has the cutting-edge foam extrusion technology of recyclable PP, PET, and compostable PLA made from corn starch. We believe these new foam materials can replace Styrofoam using our advanced foam co-extrusion technology. CHEMICO has been collaborating with multiple business partners to commercialize our eco-friendly foam materials, especially in the applications such as disposable food containers, ocean floating buoys, and protective packaging.
